Rescuing a child from a hazardous workplace is only the first step — the harder work is making sure they never have to go back.
Child labour deprives children of opportunities for education, healthy development, protection, and participation in childhood. It is often linked with poverty, social vulnerability, lack of awareness, school dropout, family hardship, and limited livelihood opportunities. SDF recognizes that eliminating child labour requires a comprehensive approach involving families, communities, schools, employers, government institutions, and civil society organizations.

Objectives
- 1Contribute towards the prevention and elimination of child labour through awareness, community mobilization, education, and coordinated action.
- 2Promote a safe, healthy, and protective environment for children and strengthen community mechanisms for child protection.
- 3Encourage children to remain in education and reduce factors that contribute to school dropout and child labour.
- 4Strengthen awareness of child rights among families, communities, institutions, and other stakeholders.
- 5Build a safer and healthier generation by addressing practices that place children at risk of exploitation, abuse, neglect, or hazardous work.
