From opening a first bank account to using it safely — closing the gap between rural households and the formal financial system.
Efforts are made to connect eligible SHGs and rural households with formal banking services and suitable credit facilities. Awareness and handholding support are provided to help groups understand the process of opening and operating bank accounts, maintaining financial records, accessing savings and credit services, and establishing credit linkages for livelihood and enterprise activities.
Government Schemes Covered
- 1Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana — long-term savings for the future of the girl child.
- 2Atal Pension Yojana — pension security for eligible individuals.
- 3Mudra loans — credit support for micro and small enterprises.
Training on digital banking is also promoted to help community members safely use banking technologies such as ATM services, mobile banking, digital payments, and online fund transfers — including awareness on protecting PINs, passwords, and banking information.
Through the combined efforts of SHG strengthening, capacity building, credit linkages, financial literacy, and government scheme awareness, rural women and households can gain greater access to financial opportunities, strengthen their livelihoods, and move towards long-term economic security and self-reliance.
