Social Development Foundation (SDF) — “Upliftment of grassroot people” — is a non-government organization working for the development of grassroot communities across Odisha since 2009.
To engage, educate and empower vulnerable communities for significant socio-economic transformation.
Social Development Foundation's initiatives are focused on Rural Development, Environment, Social Change, Gender Equality, Sustainable Agriculture & Livelihood, Health, and Climate Change — building an institutional base for addressing the problems of Tribal, Dalit, Rural Poor, women and children at the grassroot level.
Social Development Foundation was set up in 2009 and registered under the Societies Act, 1860 on 21 March 2011. Since its inception, the Foundation has worked on organic agriculture, sustainable livelihood, women & child welfare, health & hygiene, water & sanitation, social assistance programmes, rights-based advocacy, and MGNREGA — across undivided Dhenkanal, Balangir, Deogarh, Kandhamal, Khordha, and other parts of Odisha, in convergence with local governments and communities.

Social Development Foundation has been able to reach a population of 118,537+ across 121 villages, 69 Gram Panchayats, 30 Blocks, and 7 districts of Odisha.
Membership of the Governing Board is honorary — board members receive no remuneration or sitting fees beyond travel reimbursement.

Former Head Mistress at Deulabeda Colliery School, Talcher. Dedicated her time after retirement to social work, joining the Board in 2010, with a focus on education for children in slum areas.

Founder of Social Development Foundation, serving as Executive Secretary since 2010, with over 15 years of experience across livelihood, women's empowerment, primary education, and maternal & child health. Recipient of the Biju Kanya Ratna Yojona Certificate of Appreciation (FY 2017-18) and the Dr. Harekrushna Mahatab State Level Award (2018-19).
