Privacy Policy

We only collect information you choose to give us, through one of these forms:

• Contact form: your name, email address, and message.
• Volunteer form: your name, email, phone number, skills, availability, and an optional message.
• Careers form: your name, email, phone number, the position you’re applying for, an optional message, and your resume (PDF or Word file).
• Donation form: your name, email, phone number, donation amount, and — optionally, needed to issue an 80G tax receipt — your PAN. Your card, UPI, or bank details are entered directly with our payment partner, Razorpay, and never pass through or get stored on our own systems.

We do not use tracking cookies or web analytics of our own on the Site. A couple of essential embedded services (Section 3) may set their own cookies to do their job — for example, a bot-protection check on our forms.

• To respond to your enquiry, volunteer interest, or job application.
• To process your donation, send a confirmation, and issue a tax receipt where applicable.
• To keep the records required for our own accounting, audit, and regulatory compliance as a registered society.
• To send you information you’ve specifically asked for (for example, a reply to your message).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the Site, each given only what it needs to do its job:

• Razorpay — processes donation payments; your card/UPI/bank details go directly to them, governed by their own privacy policy.
• Google Maps — embedded on our Contact page to show our office location.
• A secure database provider, an email delivery service, a hosting provider, and a bot-protection check on our forms.

The Site is served entirely over HTTPS, with security headers (including HSTS and a Content Security Policy) enabled on every page. Your PAN, if provided, is stored for receipt-issuing purposes only and is never logged in plain text or displayed back to you in full. Access to the database is restricted to our server-side systems using row-level security — there is no public read or write access to your data.

We keep contact, volunteer, and career-application submissions for as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterward, then delete them. Donation and receipt records are kept for the period required under Indian accounting, tax, and FCRA/12A/80G recordkeeping rules, even after you request deletion of other personal information, since we’re legally required to retain them.

Under the DPDP Act and applicable Indian law, you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, request a copy of it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to the legal recordkeeping requirement described above for donation records). The Site is intended for adults acting on their own behalf or on behalf of an organization — for example, to volunteer, apply for a role, or donate. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Site’s forms.

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add a new form or change a service provider. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
